Sheridan Wyoming’s highly awarded production brewery is located in the heart of the wild west and at the base of the majestic Big Horn Mountains. Black Tooth Brewery creates fun, unique, award winning craft beer, and has been doing so for over 13 years. Black Tooth beer is available in both 12oz cans and draught throughout Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana, and northern Colorado.

Additionally, Black Tooth operates two additional taproom/brewery sites in Casper and Cheyenne, WY.

Black Tooth Sheridan is looking for a highly motivated, hardworking individual to join its team as Quality Assurance Manager. The ideal candidate must be able to work well within a team, have a passion for craft beer and thrive in a position that requires wearing multiple hats. This position will be responsible for leading Black Tooth’s QA/QC program, ensuring consistency across all brands, leading research projects and assisting across all departments on an as-needed basis. We are looking for candidates who are team players and motivated to grow their professional brewing career.

·      Design, implement, and oversee brewery QA/QC operating procedures

·      Facilitate decision making and advise on process modifications/improvements of processes

·      Assist across all departments on an as-needed basis: packaging, cellar operations, brewhouse operations, keg washing

·      Run routine analytical assays on beer and grain samples including: pH, gravity measurements, alcohol, grist analyses and other assays

·      Run routine analyses of packaged beer for oxygen, carbon dioxide, pH, can seam specs

·      Lead sensory sessions including: monthly water tasting, warm stored vs. cold stored beer, benchtop trials, selection of beers for competitions, etc.

·      Work closely with the Director of Brewing Operations to advise SOPs, identify and solve QA/QC issues. Present data to inform decision-making.

·      Conduct inspection and analysis of package integrity and specifications

·      Utilize sterile technique to obtain and process microbiological samples

·      Collaborate with Director of Brewing Operations to identify research project opportunities

·      Order safety, QA/QC supplies and chemicals to maintain adequate inventory levels

·      Maintain a standard of conduct that is supportive of company vision and policy

·      Conduct production floor training for new employees and keep up to date employee training records. Conduct remedial training as necessary.

·      Collaborate with facilities manager to keep records of and conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks.

·      Educate staff on safety hazards in the brewery and address these regularly at and outside of production meetings.

·      Participate in brewing/cellaring/packaging/QA/QC tasks as needed at our Casper, WY brewery location.

·      3+ years commercial brewery experience, preferable producing 1,000+ bbls/year

·      Ability to work in a fast paced and constantly changing work environment

·      Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment

·      Extensive experience in all phases of beer production (Brewing, Cellaring, Packaging)

·      Degree from a 4-year accredited college or equivalent experience desired

·      Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, cloud-based computing and databases, mobile applications and other emerging technologies affecting Black Tooth Brewing Company business.

·      Valid Driver’s License, proof of insurance and a clean driving record.

·      Must be able to professionally represent Black Tooth Brewing Co. at industry and public events during and after the consumption of alcohol.

·      Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends, and Holidays as necessary.

·      Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently

·      Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis

·      While primarily an inside job, must be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)

·      Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside and frequently lift 60lbs. and occasionally up to 150lbs.
